When we view our experiences through a positive lens, we more than likely find something that makes us better for the experience. We press on despite the dilapidated experience for which we find ourselves. Eventually, when the problem passes, we find that we are stronger for the struggle.
The girl met a boy long ago and never mentioned her feelings for him. He was the “it” guy in high school, and she never felt she measured up. Years later, thanks to the Internet, she reaches out to him through a high-school connection website. They end up talking after her nasty divorce that had left her mentally paralyzed.
It all started with a carry-on bag full of pictures created before digital photography became the norm. I had taken shots of varying times in my and my family’s life, especially of my children, from the toddler tender moments to the teenage trials.
Our closest friends become a part of who we become. This is why surrounding ourselves with people of good character and happy hearts is so important. The last thing we need to do is grow old and bitter because we’ve submersed ourselves in a sea of negativity for so long, or we’ve spent our time with people who, at their core, can’t see the joy or promise in a single thing, the people who are pre-wired to hate and judge life instead of tackling problems and moving on to more positive things.
